Leaving behind the bitter cold and snow, M3 Yoga Studio celebrates the month of March with rejuvenating and wellness-focused weekend workshops. M3 Yoga Founder and Yogi Merri Mueller (Westport, Conn.) has organized special afternoon classes, led by popular instructors and experts, for people of all ages and levels.

“We believe yoga involves discovering one’s physical and mental strength and clarity, as well as finding connection and acceptance. These workshops were designed to bring together current members of M3 and people of the community, who may be new to yoga, to experience yoga at a deeper level, learning more about living the yoga off the mat,” said Mueller, who is RYT-500 (Registered Yoga Teacher) certified and has been practicing yoga for 15 years. “Your body and mind will thank you!”

M3 Yoga’s March workshops include:

Expand Your Practice – Saturday, March 15, 1:30-3:30 pm

M3 Yoga invites yoga students to expand their knowledge of the origins of this powerful practice and acquire even more tools to help carry that calm, confident, centered space found on the yoga mat into everyday life. Led by Sophie Slater and Maggie Converse of Life Balance Jumpstart, this workshop will be an afternoon of grounding yoga, meditation and engaging introductory discourse on the Yoga Sutras of the great sage Patanjali, the 196 aphorism text that outlines the eight limbs of Ashtanga yoga. Bring a mat, a pen and a curious mind. Cost: $30 for members, $35 for non-members.

Stress Buster Workshop – Saturday, March 22, 11:30 am – 1 pm

Lisa Sheehan, a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction expert, invites participants to explore the physiology and psychology of stress and the nervous system and how the use of mindfulness practices, such as meditation and yoga, provide tools to skillfully manage stressors. Workshop includes mindfulness meditation practice and gentle restorative yoga. Cost: $25 for members, $30 for non-members.

Spring (Do-Able) Detox – Saturday, March 29, 3 – 4:30 pm

This workshop, led by Holistic Health Coach Sue Horst, centers around and celebrates eating real, whole foods. It is not a juice cleanse, nor will any fasting be required. It is, instead, an immersion in healthy eating that will gently clean one’s body from the inside out. There are three phases, which will allow participants to gently move in, and wisely ease out of, the two-week detox. The workshop will include a detox manual, recipes, cooking demonstration and tasty sampling, plus the option to join ongoing support via a private Facebook group. According to Ayurveda, yoga’s sister science, spring is the optimal time to detox. Cost: $25 for members, $30 for non-members.
